The color purple, Walker, AliceI’m doing my lecture talk about ‘the color purple’ from Alice Walker.
The story is about a girl, Celie, who writes letters mainly addressed to God.
At the beginning of the story she’s 14 years old and is raped by her stepfather.
She is sold to her husband as if she was a slave. Her husband beats her and tells her what to do.
She also has to take care of his four children. Her husband, Albert, actually more likes her younger sister Nettie.
At one moment Nettie runs away from home in order to escape from her father and she lives with Celie and Albert, until he tells her to go.
Celie gives her the name of the man who adopted her children, and says that he might be able to help her.
